About Blooom
Our Story
Founded with a commitment to neurodiversity and inclusivity, Blooom combines sustainable agriculture and employment opportunities for young adults with special needs. Our model uses microgreens as a medium for skill-building, confidence, and independence.
Our Team
Meet the people behind Blooom. Each member brings unique skills and passion to our mission, working together to create a supportive and inclusive environment for young adults.
Our Social Enterprise Model
Blooom operates as a social enterprise, balancing a social mission with a sustainable business approach. By selling high-quality microgreens grown both with soil and through hydroponics, we aim to fund our initiatives while offering real work experience to our participants.

About Neurodiversity

Understanding Neurodiversity
Neurodiversity is a condition that affects how individuals communicate, interact, and process information. Blooom embraces the unique strengths of young adults with special needs, focusing on their abilities rather than limitations.

Our Approach to Neurodiversity
We promote an inclusive environment, where each individual’s skills are celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Blooom provides structured tasks, consistent routines, and a sensory-friendly workspace designed for neurodivergent individuals.

How We Support Young Adults on the Spectrum
From training to hands-on agricultural work, Blooom supports the development of skills in time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. Our supportive community fosters personal growth and confidence, enabling participants to make meaningful contributions.
Microgreens & Sustainable Agriculture

Why Microgreens?
Microgreens are nutrient-dense plants that are easy to grow, quick to harvest, and highly versatile. They allow our participants to engage in each stage of growth and harvesting, fostering a strong sense of accomplishment.

Our Sustainable Practices
At Blooom, we use both with soil and hydroponics, a soil-less method of growing plants, which reduces water usage and allows for efficient indoor farming. Our commitment to sustainability not only benefits the environment but also ensures that our microgreens are of the highest quality.

Hydroponics Explained
Hydroponic farming involves growing plants in nutrient-rich water instead of soil. This innovative method provides a controlled environment, enabling our team to grow fresh microgreens all year round with minimal waste and resources.
Our Vision: Blooom in a Box
Creating a 'Blooom in a Box' Method
Our vision is to make Blooom accessible to anyone, anywhere. The "Blooom in a Box" concept will provide all necessary tools, resources, and guidelines for setting up a Blooom operation that helps young adults with special needs in local communities.
Open-Source, Scalable Impact
Blooom in a Box will be an open-source model, meaning that anyone interested can replicate our approach without licensing fees. By sharing our knowledge and practices, we aim to foster a global community committed to inclusivity and sustainable agriculture.
Empowering Communities Worldwide
We believe in the power of communities to create positive change. Blooom in a Box empowers local leaders and organizations to set up their own microgreen-growing operations, creating work and learning opportunities for young adults on the spectrum globally.
